Customer care

Terms & Conditions

Clear expectations for furniture made in our Cape Town workshop.

Read these terms with your agreed order details and our linked policies. Nothing limits your rights under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act (CPA) or Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).

Orders, payments & timing

Our furniture is made to order. Confirm the price, payment arrangements and production estimate with us before proceeding. Any deposit and balance payments follow your agreed quote; please retain your order confirmation and payment records.

Our published lead time is 2–3 weeks from order confirmation. Confirm the estimate for your particular piece, especially bespoke work. Production estimates are not delivery appointments. If delays arise, we will discuss revised arrangements; applicable cancellation rights remain.

Confirm your specifications

Check dimensions, timber, finish and all custom requirements before production. Bespoke specifications require your written approval. Tell us about any particular purpose or fit requirement before ordering. Changes need our written acceptance, with any revised price or timing agreed before proceeding.

Natural timber & finish

Wood grain, knots and colour vary, and finishes can look different across timber, lighting and screens. Samples and images guide your selection. Natural variation does not excuse structural defects, poor workmanship or material departures from approved specifications.

Delivery, collection & access

Cape Town delivery is arranged through third-party furniture movers and quoted separately according to location, item size and access. We confirm the delivery charge with you before arranging delivery. Workshop collection is available by arrangement; contact us to agree the details before arriving.

Measure doorways, passages, stairs, lifts and tight turns to ensure your furniture reaches its intended position. Disclose access restrictions when requesting a quote. Any extra handling costs must be lawfully disclosed and agreed. Our responsibilities for delivery by our appointed movers remain. See Deliveries & Collections.

Cancellations & returns

We offer a full refund if neither production nor purchasing materials specifically for your order has begun when your cancellation reaches us. Afterwards, lawful, reasonable cancellation charges or genuine bespoke restrictions may apply. Made-to-order furniture is not automatically exempt from cancellation rights.

We do not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns after delivery. Statutory rights remain: eligible electronic purchases have a seven-day cooling-off period after receipt under ECTA, subject to its exceptions, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. See our Cancellations, Returns & Refunds policy.

Defects & furniture care

Inspect your furniture and report damage, defects or incorrect specifications to info@vansoul.co.za, with photographs where possible. Signing for delivery does not waive claims.

Follow our care guidance: use a soft cloth, wipe spills promptly and protect surfaces from heat, moisture, harsh cleaners and prolonged sunlight. Damage caused by misuse or incorrect care is distinct from a manufacturing defect; unrelated genuine defects remain covered by applicable law.
